The Alamo

We left New Mexico and drove all the way to San Antonio, Texas. Our first sight seeing adventure in San Antonio was to The Alamo. We had heard not to expect too much but were pleasantly surprised.

The actual Alamo Mission building is small and is located in the heart of down town San Antonio but the surrounding buildings of the Mission were set up with historical displays that were excellent. When we visited they were having an educational day with various displays in the yard of the mission from Indians playing a drum and chanting (which was excellent) to different stations for kids to play games.

Here is David Crocket's actual hunting knife and gun.
The gardens had some lovely huge Live Oak Trees.
